WB Games and Xbox Game Pass

Warner Bros. Games and Xbox Game Pass have a kind relationship. Since they are not competing services, a partnership seems to be the more profitable play. Several WB Games have been added to Game Pass, including Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Back 4 Blood, and Mortal Kombat 11. That's a good footnote for those hoping to see Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass. Now the not-so-rosy news. Hit games like Gothom Knights have yet to be added to Game Pass, and very few day-one games are added from the WB Games catalog.

What is Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives players access to hundreds of Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S games. The pass costs $9.99 per month or $14.99 per month for Ultimate members. New games are added to the pass each month, and some leave as well after a period of time.

Is Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass?

There is no word if Hogwarts Legacy will be added to Xbox Game Pass. The release date for the game is February 10, 2023, which means we would have seen a "day one" release posting from Xbox by now. Avalanche Software may wait to see the game's success before jumping into bed with Microsoft. I speculate that Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass will depend on initial sales figures. If it is a success, there may not be a reason to place it on a subscription service. However, if it doesn't do as well as expected, we could probably see it joining Xbox Game Pass at some point.
