  • Why Hogwarts Legacy Is Better Without Harry Potter

Hogwarts. Harry Potter. They're practically inseparable, right? But what if I told you Hogwarts Legacy is about to prove that there's WAY more to this magical school than a certain lightning-scarred kid? Your Wizard, Your Way Avalanche Software is taking us on a wild ride back to the 1800s. That's right, a whole century before Harry and his pals were causing trouble. This is your chance to carve your own path in the wizarding world - no prophecy baggage or Voldemort's goons to worry about. Hogwarts Legacy: Open World Edition This ain't your typical linear story. Hogwarts Legacy is about freedom. Explore those iconic halls, wander the Forbidden Forest, even pop into Hogsmeade for a butterbeer. Secrets, side quests, and who-knows-what-else is waiting to be discovered. It's the Hogwarts experience every Potter fan dreamed of. But Can You Actually Do Magic? That's the million-Galleon question. From what we've seen, Hogwarts Legacy won't skimp on the spellcasting. Potions, duels, crazy magical creatures – it's all there. The real test is if it feels satisfying or if it'll get repetitive. Let's hope there's more to mastering spells than waving your wand around. The Magic Is (Mostly) Alive Everything I've seen screams "authentically Hogwarts." The Great Hall, the shifting staircases, the voice acting... it feels like stepping into the books, with a dash of next-gen polish. This is where Hogwarts Legacy could truly shine. Choose Your Edition Wisely Like most games these days, Hogwarts Legacy has a few different editions. Standard Edition gets you the basics, Deluxe throws in some extra goodies, and the Collector's Edition is for the hardcore fans (that floating wand is kinda tempting though…). Figure out what perks you actually want before you pre-order. Bottom Line: Is It Worth the Hype? Hogwarts Legacy has the potential to be the magical adventure we've been craving. But the real proof will be in the playing. If it delivers on those open-world promises and makes spellcasting fun, it could be a contender for game of the year, Harry Potter or no Harry Potter. • The One Need For Speed Game That I Demand They Remake

Need For Speed has been around for a long time. Since 1994 to be exact. They have released over 20 games under the NFS brand; only one has stuck to me like glue over the years. It is a game that captures the essence of street racing and car culture. It made me feel like a midnight street racer with a low-grade tuner trying to make a name for myself. To me, it's still the best Need For Speed game ever made, and I DEMAND (yea, that's right) a remake! That game is Need For Speed Underground 2. Why NFS Underground 2 over any other game? The game was released in 2004, so it's already nostalgic. I was a teenager when the game came out and just starting to get into car culture. The game did a fantastic job of pulling me into that world with its graphics, customization, and underground racing feel. It also had a great soundtrack which is always important in games like this. Not to mention the map was huge! You could spend hours driving around, exploring everything it had to offer. About Need For Speed Underground 2 Need For Speed Underground 2 is a racing game released in 2004 on Microsoft Windows (PC), GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. It is the 8th installment in the Need For Speed series and was developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts (EA). The game is set in an underground street racing scene and features extensive car customization and numerous race events spread across a large city environment. The career mode was its prize possession, pitting the player against a series of underground rivals in underground races while also gradually providing them with new cars and upgrades. ADVERTISEMENT After the events of Need for Speed: Underground, Need for Speed Underground 2 takes place in Bayview. In Olympic City (the racing activities are in Bayview), the game begins with the player driving his Nissan Skyline R34. He races off, despite Samantha's warnings, only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. He receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The incident is confirmed by the driver, who has a one-of-a-kind scythe tattoo. The flashback ends with his phone call. The game then fast-forwards to a month later when the player, now without a car, is given his first underground race by Samantha. After winning the race and impressing Samantha's boss, Rachel (a former street racer herself), the player is given enough money to buy his first car — a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. From there, he races his way up the underground racing league in Bayview, earning respect and sponsorship deals from various businesses. SCREENSHOTS: Need For Speed Underground 2 Gameplay Why Was Need For Speed Underground 2 So Good? Need For Speed Underground 2 felt like a game I could be proud of owning. It had all the car features seen in big Hollywood movies like Fast and Furious. It allowed me to make a sick whip and move up the underground ranks like Paul Walker. Except I wanted to be more ripped like Vin Diesel (Paul Disiel would be my name in a perfect underground world). It was just so good, and I want to experience it again. Plus, the underground racing scene has only gotten bigger since 2004 with things like Formula D and drift culture. A new NFS Underground would be a success! Anyway, the point is that I demand they remake this game. What made Need For Speed Underground so good? The main menu was littered with Brooke Burke, who was super hot. She probably still is. Every racing theme movie or game needs hot chicks. It was also the first Need For Speed game to offer free roam, which opened up a new era for NFS. ADVERTISEMENT The racing was intense. The neon lights, cityscapes, nitrous oxide boosts, and over-the-top drifts made racing feel like you never had to go below 100mph. Working my way up through the underground to become the best street racer in Olympic City was a challenge. The drag racing was way too easy, but drift and sprint races made up for it. There was an element of street racing that wasn't present, which is why some argue the game wasn't great. That would be the lack of cops. The music was cultivating. The game had an excellent mix of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music. There was even a punk song in there by The Transplants. It set the perfect tone for an underground racing game. I miss those days when games would come with awesome soundtracks, and that's all you could listen to while gaming. I do not always complain; when a game has a lame soundtrack, I appreciate the option to pop Spotify on to replace it. The customization had a personality. I miss the days when you could make your car look as ridiculous as you wanted, and no one would judge you. In NFS Underground 2, I had a pink neon Honda Civic with green racing stripes and neon underglow. It was hideous, but I loved it. The game let me express myself through my car in a way that few games do these days. You could make your car feel like an extension of yourself, which is essential in a racing game. The visual upgrades captured the tuner culture, from headlights and hoods to spoilers. There was a wide range of upgrades, but nothing as sophisticated as what is available in The Crew 2 and Forza Horizon 5. Still, for the time, it felt like an entirely new world of car customization. VIDEO: Need For Speed Underground 2 Gameplay NFSU2: A Remaster, A Remake, or A Sequel? I think a remaster is out of the question. It would ruin the nostalgia of the original, plus there are some pretty cool features in today's racing games that I would miss too much to enjoy a remaster fully. I think a sequel would be great. I would like to see a return to the underground racing scene with maybe a new city to race in. There could be more focus on drifting and street racing, with cops being present but not as much of a nuisance as in other games. Or the sequel could be set in Bayview 20 years later, and the main guy's kid gets into street racing, gets kidnapped, and the main guy needs to come out of retirement to save him. Kind of like the movie "Gone In Sixty Seconds." See how original my ideas are? They all come from movie references. ADVERTISEMENT Was NFS Underground That Good? Need For Speed Underground 2 generally received positive reviews from some critics, with an average score of 82% on Metacritic. It received average reviews from most major publications and was noted as a flawed slap in the face to race fans. That's probably why racers love it so much. Street Racing is a culture, and even if critics thought the game mechanics were bad, racers didn't mind. The idea of customizing a ride and breaking the law with an underground street racing gang entices teenage dreamers. Enticing danger and street racing is also why Need For Speed shifted gears (no pun intended) and later released Need For Speed Shift, a game focused on legal circuit racing. Conclusion Whether or not you think Need For Speed Underground 2 was that good, there's no denying it was popular. The game put street racing culture on the map and inspired a new generation of racers. If a sequel were to be made, I think it would be successful as long as it stayed true to the underground roots of the original game. It would look great on consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X or even more fun with a racing wheel on a PC version. A sequel to Need For Speed Underground two would probably be the best underground racer if Criterion Games made it. With the advances in graphics and the 650 Fast and Furious movies launched since 2004, getting back to the roots of underground street racing could be a relief for fans.

  • 10 Years Later: Revisiting Need for Speed Most Wanted

Need for Speed Most Wanted, developed by Blackbox and published by Electronic Arts, was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox. Inspired by the gameplay and success of its 2005 counterpart, Most Wanted was created as a successor rather than a sequel or remaster. Produced with most gameplay involving racing, it still had an open world. In 2012, Criterion Games launched a new Need for Speed Most Wanted game. 2012's NFS Most Wanted striped out the story mode and the menus and focused solely on adrenaline-fueled racing. It was progressing through the game-involved events against other street racers and taking down the ten most wanted racers. Now that it's been out for ten years, how does it hold up? I downloaded Need for Speed Most Wanted on EA Play to find out. VIDEO: Need For Speed Most Wanted Gameplay Intuitive Menu System The intuitive menu system made it easy to navigate the game. The Race and Car Selection screens were replaced with an easy-to-use menu system that allowed players to easily select their next race or customize their car without leaving the driving screen. This streamlined approach allowed players to focus on the action of racing instead of navigating through menus. EasyDrive was designed to replace traditionally bulky menus and race and car selection screens. This approach was intended to make racing more accessible and fun for players of any skill level. In addition, EasyDrive allowed players to quickly find and access the features they wanted without needing prior knowledge of the game's mechanics. By reducing the burden of knowing how to play Need for Speed, most wanted, players could focus on racing and have a more enjoyable experience. Finally, the menu system in Need for Speed most wanted was designed so that it would be easy for players to navigate regardless of their familiarity with video games or racing games in general. ADVERTISEMENT True Arcade Style Gameplay Need for Speed is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed racing game franchises. Gameplay styles vary from game to game. Most Wanted has rich gameplay, an open-world environment, and, most importantly, high-speed action that keeps the players hooked. The gameplay of Need for Speed Most Wanted is authentic arcade-style gameplay. Players experience every moment behind the wheel in this game like a high-paced action movie scene. They get to steer the car with precision and make huge drifts at blinding speeds. Players can also perform nitro and takedowns to make races feel fast-paced and competitive. The Police add an element of suspense to open-world driving and races. They patrol the roads in police cruisers that will chase players if they try to overtake them too quickly or recklessly. This gameplay makes it a must-play game for any racer out there. Unique Car Unlocking System Need for Speed Most Wanted is a game about car customization and car racing through an open-world place called Fairhaven. The player can unlock cars by driving them up to them and using the "Unlock" button on their controller or keyboard. This makes it easy to switch between vehicles without finding a safe house or going through a car selection screen. Not all vehicles could be unlocked, however. See a BMW, Dodge SRT Viper GTS, or Porsche Carrera S? Drive up to it, and now it's yours! In most cases, these cars were hidden in hard-to-reach places making an unlock even more rewarding. The downside is that players had difficulty swapping them after they were opened. This is where a car selection menu would have been welcoming. GALLERY: Need For Speed Gameplay Pictures Epic Burnout-Inspired Races After creating the critically acclaimed Burnout Paradise, Criterion Games wanted to create a game that would capture the same high-octane thrill of their beloved franchise. This is why they hired creative director Craig Sullivan to helm the project and bring in elements from their beloved Burnout franchise. This resulted in Need for Speed Most Wanted having some of the most intense and exhilarating races ever seen in a video game. These races are even more thrilling by including police chases, making any race feel like an epic Hollywood blockbuster chase scene. Even so, Most Wanted is a true gem on its own. It has the high-octane thrills of Burnout with officially licensed cars. Use events to takedown Most Wanted racers like Razor and are the first to the finish line to claim their vehicle. This makes it different from other racers on the market today. Overall, Most Wanted is a gratifying experience for racing fans. Aggressive Police You Don't Want To Mess With The police system in Need for Speed Most Wanted seems inspired by Grand Theft Auto's wanted system, which features multiple tiers of difficulty. The cops in Most Wanted are a relentless police force and will not give up the chase until you are either captured or destroyed. They will also call in reinforcements if they feel they are losing the pursuit and seem better at aggressive driving than you are. This can make for some very intense chases that can simultaneously be both exhilarating and frustrating. In most cases, it is best to avoid the Police altogether unless you have a top-tier car and want to test your racing skills. Once you get out of sight, hiding from the Police is a challenge. The Police are pretty good at patrolling and rediscovering you. ADVERTISEMENT Huge Open World Map Need for Speed Most Wanted was a vast open-world game back in 2012. It had a ton of locations to explore and unique cars to unlock. While the size is impressive now, it was a marvel back then. The size of the world made the gameplay feel dynamic and varied, from downtown cities to mountains and forests. Each area had unique cars and challenges, making the entire map worth exploring. The online features are limited, but there is a multiplayer option. The lobby may not be too busy these days, but finding a friend or two you can cruise the streets with is a fun way to enjoy Most Wanted. Overall, it's a great open-world racing game with tons to do. Graphics That Don't Look Dated Regarding graphics, Need for Speed Most Wanted has aged well. The game features quality reflections and shadows, detailed textures that add realism, and cars that look great when they get wrecked. The game offers quality reflections and shadows, high-resolution textures, and v-sync support on PC. These features help keep gameplay smooth and fluid. Players can also adjust most settings to suit their preferences. Console players can admire the gameplay, but PC players can enjoy the gameplay and graphics. I was even able to set the resolution to 1440P and 1620P. A 10-year-old game with 2K resolution support is a nice bonus. ADVERTISEMENT An Awesome Soundtrack To Cruise To Need for Speed Most Wanted's soundtrack features a wide range of genres, from rock and rap to hip-hop. Many songs featured in the game have become popular hits, if not already famous. One such song is 'Still Alive' by electronic music group Deadmau5 and Panic! At The Disco, an electronic-style track about persevering through difficulties. EA shows its AAA status with its ability to license the most famous cars and music on the planet. Conclusion High stakes and no brakes-allowed street racing are a staple of the Need for Speed series. Need for Speed Most Wanted is still a great game ten years later. It features incredible graphics that have aged well, a fantastic soundtrack playlist, and hours upon hours of gameplay. Fighting through events and moving up the most wanted list is a rewarding experience. The arcade racer created by Criterion Games is vast and full of things to do. At the time, it was the best NFS game to come out since the Need for Speed Underground series and is still one of the best Need for Speed games to date. I highly recommend this game to any racing fan or anyone looking for a great game.

  • All Need For Speed Games On EA Play: Ranked

Electronic Arts is one of the largest video game publishers in the world, and Need for Speed is the most popular racing franchise on the market today. Players can access some of the best EA Games available for a monthly fee with the EA app on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Finding the right match can sometimes be challenging, with so many games to choose from. Check out this list of the best Need for Speed games available on EA Play and EA Play Pro to see how we ranked the best Need for Speed racing games. EA Play Has A Solid Need For Speed Collection If you are a subscriber or are considering subscribing to EA Play, Need For Speed is a street racing franchise worth checking out. Included with an EA Play membership are six Need for Speed games. Subscribers of EA Play Pro also get access to a seventh Need For Speed game: "Need For Speed Unbound." We ranked all 7 NFS Games on EA Play from worst to best. Judging from the list, you can see that EA had a rough patch and made some of their weakest racing games during the mid to late 2010s. If you want to know which Need for Speed games on EA Play are the best, you're in the right spot. ADVERTISEMENT 7. Need For Speed (2015) Need for Speed launched in 2015 and is the worst of the bunch. It's not a terrible game, but it's forgettable compared to the other games on this list. The biggest issue with NFS (2015) is its lack of identity. It borrows too heavily from other racing games and doesn't do anything unique to set itself apart from a gameplay perspective. A Need For Speed movie had just been released when this game was released. The film was successful, so Need For Speed used real actors to play out the cinematic cut scenes. Not a bad idea, but it feels a bit weird, with more focus on the story than the actual racing. If you want to play an arcade racer, there are better options available on EA Play. 6. Need For Speed Rivals (2013) Need For Speed Rivals launched in 2013 and tried to continue the success of Most Wanted. Unfortunately, they took too many fan-favorite elements and threw them aside like a flat tire. The open-world map is large but empty. There are no natural landmarks, and exploring is not as fun. On the plus side, the racing itself is still enjoyable. Like Most Wanted (2012), you can race against AI opponents or other players online in multiplayer mode. But with new arcade racers like Forza Horizon 3 released shortly after Rivals, there was no need for this game to exist. 5. Need For Speed Payback (2017) After the critical flop of 2015's Need for Speed, EA Games decided to give the series a second chance in 2017 with Need For Speed Payback. This game borrows heavily from games like Burnout Paradise and The Crew. It's an open-world racing game set in the fictional city of Fortune Valley. You play as three characters with their racing specialties: street, off-road, and drag racing. The story is pretty forgettable, but exploring the map and finding all the collectibles is still fun. And unlike its predecessor, it didn't have an annoying always-online setup that would cause performance issues. Instead, it uses a new social feature called "AllDrive," which allows players to easily switch from single to multiplayer. 4. Need For Speed Heat (2019) Need for Speed Heat was launched in 2019 and felt like a return to form for the franchise. It borrows the best elements from games like 2017's Payback and 2015's Need for Speed and mixes them with a new day/night cycle that adds an extra layer of strategy to racing. The game takes place in Palm City, which is basically Miami. You can race during the day to earn reputation points (used to unlock new events) or at night to gain street cred (used to buy performance upgrades). There's also a robust customization system that lets you make your car look however you want. Overall, it's an excellent racing game worth your time, but it lacks specific innovations found in early NFS games, which is why it's ranked fourth. 3. Need For Speed Unbound (2022) Need For Speed Unbound launched in 2022 and is available to EA Play Pro subscribers. It's the latest game in the franchise and features a new open-world setting called "Lakeshore." The streets are your canvas, and your car is the paintbrush. You play as a driver who has to earn a reputation by winning races and completing objectives. The story is forgettable, but the gameplay is solid. Unfortunately, the game suffered from technical issues at launch, which prevented it from being ranked higher. Many fun features that make Unbound unique are simple eye candy and don't make Unbound feel new and refreshing. Still, the features are entertaining enough to offer a new perspective on Need For Speed games. ADVERTISEMENT 2. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered (2020) Initially launched in 2010, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit received a 10-year remastered edition in 2020. The remastered edition features updated graphics, new cars, and all of the DLC from the original game. The original game was possibly the best Need For Speed game ever created. Although it lacked the customization found in Need For Speed underground, the gameplay was a unique blend of racing and action sequences. Using special tools to take down other drivers and police, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit was a blast to play. It's an excellent racing game and a must-play for franchise fans. 1. Need For Speed Most Wanted (2012) Need For Speed Most Wanted launched in 2012. Not to be confused with the 2005 release with the same name. It may be over ten years old, but it still offers the best features in any racing game. The world map is massive, with a ton of events to do. Over 50 cars are available to drive, each with its unique feel. Most Wanted also features a fantastic soundtrack that perfectly complements the game's racing action. It was also one of the first Need For Speed games to offer online multiplayer racing. Despite its age, Need For Speed Most Wanted is still the best racing game in the franchise and a must-play for all fans of racing games. ADVERTISEMENT Conclusion Electronic Arts hit the right spot with the EA Play subscription service. EA Play is worth subscribing to on the most powerful consoles and platforms (Playstation, Xbox, and PC). Xbox Game Pass members can enjoy the benefits of EA Play at no extra cost. Many excellent Need For Speed games are available on the EA app, but the best is undoubtedly Need For Speed Most Wanted (2012) and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered (2020). These two games offer the best features and gameplay of any racing game. If you're a fan of racing games, you need to play both of these classics.

  • How To Play Rumbleverse: A Beginner's Guide

Welcome To Rumbleverse! Attention all Fortnite fans! There's a new game in town that feels like a bootleg version of Fornite. But it's much more than a knock-off; it's a fun game that's easy to pick up and play. The game is Rumbleverse, a battle royale-style wrestling game from Iron Galaxy and Epic Games that adds a new twist to the battle royale genre. Take on 39 other players and wrestle your way to victory in a diverse open-world city called Grapital City. Rumbleverse offers many customization options that allow you to make your player unique and exciting. Show off your pimped-out wrestler and use each match as a chance to prove you're the best wrestler the Rumbleverse has ever seen. You'll be number 1 in no time -- unless I'm in the match! If you're not entirely confident, use these eight tips in our beginner's guide to help improve your skills. VIDEO: How To Play Rumbleverse Tip #1: Keep Moving What if a football player had the ball and decided not to run with it? He would probably get hit hard and not score any points. The most important thing in battle royale games is to keep moving. You want to avoid being caught in the open by another player, so always be on the move. If you're standing still, you're a sitting duck. New players often like to hide and wait out the storm, but moving is the safer play. Plus, you can learn from other players that you run into. What will you learn sitting behind a dumpster in an alley, camped out like a vacation? Tip #2: Use Combos You know those tasty pretzel snacks with the cheese in the middle? Those won't help you win the game, but attack combos will. Combos are crucial in battle royale games. By stringing together a series of moves, you can do a lot more damage to your opponents. Learn the different combos available to you and use them often. Tip #3: Attack and Get Stars Collecting stars and attacking other wrestlers helps build up your stamina and go into superstar mode. Without stamina, your character is vulnerable to getting attacked and not having enough energy to defend themselves. Superstar mode can be a lifesaver, allowing you to land a punishing blow to your opponent. It can also help you counter a possibly painful attack. Use melee and weapons to build up to superstar mode quickly. Tip #4: Use Your Pockets Put your phone in your pocket because it will only distract you from being the best wrestler to enter the Rumbleverse since McScratchey (that's me). Break crates and collect loot to give yourself an edge. Use your virtual Rumbleverse pockets to store those items and use them in the heat of battle. From golf clubs to protein shakes, there's tons of loot to collect. There are only four pockets, so choose wisely when saving an item. Of course, you can always swap an item later if you don't like what you have. Tip #5: Books and Perks Books are great! Have you read one lately? Yea, me neither. The books in Rumbleverse are worth checking out. They contain magic spells that give you extra powers and let you attack in new ways! Train your wrestler using books and hold up to two special moves at a time. Use those power-ups to land a potential K.O. to any nearby foe. Tip #6: Don't Climb Too High If you're on the rooftop of a skyscraper standing there like Batman, you better watch your back. One punch to the back of the head, and you're in for a long fall to K.O. land. Climbing up buildings can have an advantage, but don't go up to high if you're a beginner. Without the ability to fight the way a more experienced player does, a building only makes it easier for a better player to bring you more pain. Practice attacking combatants on the ground until you can manage brawling in tighter quarters. Tip #7: Recharge Stamina Use the block to recharge stamina! It's really important. You need the stamina to run, climb, jump and attack. Without it, you're just a punching bag that will make some other player very happy. Keep an eye on your stamina and recharge by holding the block button. If your stamina is low, dodge other players until you can recharge it. Tip #8: Be Patient and Avoid Big Fights In the first tip, I said to keep moving. That holds true most of the time, but there are moments when you are better off grabbing a bag of chips and a soda and sitting back to enjoy the show. Watch three or four other players pound it out and wait for your moment to step in and finish the last guy off. Patience has helped me many times, and it will also help you as well. Bonus Tip: Customize Your Character This won't make you a better player, but it will make you stand out. Once you get good enough, other players will need to recognize you. Make your brawler unique by unlocking new gear in-game or using Brawlla bills to buy cosmetics. Brawlla bills can be purchased with real money and used to buy special gear that will make your character look awesome. With these tips in mind, Rumbleverse should be a little easier to navigate. Practice and learn the ropes before taking on the more experienced players. Customizing your character will also help you stand out and make it easier for other players to remember who you are. Keep practicing and you'll be great in no time! Rumbleverse is an exciting brawler royale game that keeps players busy for hours. It's free to play and is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC. The December 20th Season 2 expansion for Rumbleverse offers more chaos and mayhem. With the help of this ultimate beginner's guide, a little time, and luck, you'll brawl your way to victory in no time. If you still need help and want to practice more, check out Playground Mode. Playground mode offers interactive tutorials and allows players to hone their skills before entering Solo mode or Duos mode. Best of luck out there!

  • Need for Speed Unbound: The Final Nail in the Coffin for EA Racing?

Alright, I've spent a decent chunk of time with Need for Speed Unbound. The hype machine worked its magic, but after all that... this is where I stand. It's honestly got me wondering if EA even cares about its racing titles anymore. Let's Start With What Works (I Guess) Look, I'll give credit for effort: The graffiti visuals are a bold move. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're at least different. Kinda like your friend who tries way too hard to be cool, but you appreciate the attempt? Soundtrack's not bad. A decent mix that'll appeal to the younger crowd. If you're into tweaking the look of your ride, the customization options are plentiful. For super casual arcade racers, there's enough mindless fun here to keep you busy for a bit. Now, the Elephant in the Garage... The driving. Oh man, the driving. You ever try turning a cardboard box? That's got more precision than some of the cars in Unbound. Physics went out the window, replaced with some vague notion of what drifting might feel like. The story? I'm not even sure I can call it that. It's a bunch of poorly connected cutscenes with cringe-worthy dialogue, leaving fans feeling cheated and confused. And the whole thing has an unfinished vibe, like they ran out of time and slapped on a half-baked ending. The "Fortnite-ification" of Need for Speed Forget about gritty street racing or high-octane chases. EA apparently thinks turning Need for Speed into a cheap Fortnite clone is what gamers want. Endless customization, flashy effects, and a focus on style over substance... it's just not what built this franchise. If you're an old-school NFS fan, prepare to be seriously let down. This Isn't Just About Unbound, It's About EA It's 2023. Gamers have choices. Forza Horizon 5 delivers an insanely polished open-world racing experience. The Crew 2 keeps evolving, adding content and features that make it a blast to play with friends. Meanwhile, Need for Speed Unbound shuffles in like a dusty relic, relying on brand name alone. Where's the innovation? Where's the passion? So, Should You Even Care? I'm not gonna lie, it hurts a bit to say this. But here's the deal: If you're a diehard NFS fan: Temper your expectations way, way down and maybe wait for a sale. New to racing games and love flashy visuals: Unbound could be your jam. Seasoned gamer looking for a serious challenge: Skip it – you'll find better experiences elsewhere. The EA Play Trial is Your Friend Don't take my word for it. See for yourself if it's worth it before putting down serious money. The Sad Truth Need for Speed Unbound isn't a complete disaster, but it's a massive disappointment. It's a sign that EA either doesn't understand its own racing franchises or simply doesn't care enough to try anymore. And as someone who grew up with these games, that's a bitter pill to swallow.
